Morton: When A Fellow Professional Spits In Your Face It’s Difficult...
Michael Morton Has Reacted To His Sending Off Last Night
AmaZulu midfielder, Michael Morton, has reacted to his sending off last night after he retaliated against Gabadinho Mhango for spitting in his face.
The Malawian took umbrage to a tackle on him during Usuthu’s 3-0 win, and in the scuffle that followed, spat at the former SuperSport United man, prompting an angry response from the midfielder.
Morton proceeded to push Mhango to the floor and was given a straight red card, however, Mhango escaped any sort of punishment and was allowed to finish the game.
Taking to Twitter this morning, Morton explained that – while he cannot excuse his reaction, he says it’s difficult to control your emotions in that kind of situation.
At this point, there has been no word from either the PSL or Wits as to whether there will be any further action taken against the forward, while Morton will miss the next two games.
