Debutant goalscorer Michael Boxall said it was the first time he’d played a game over two days, as SuperSport United beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The game had to be resumed after the lights went out on Tuesday night, but SuperSport were able to hold onto their 1-0 lead in the 30 minutes played the next day.
Boxall said it was quite an experience, but they were happy to get the clean sheet.
The New Zealander also said that the club has helped him acclimatise to the game in South Africa, but he still had a long way to go.
“Well, that’s the first time I’ve played a game over two days, so that was quite an experience,” Boxall said after the game.
"But the boys dug in well, particularly today, and happy to get the clean-sheet.
“It’s been a bit of an adjustment (to the PSL), still a bit of ways to go, but the team have been more than helpful, a great team, great off the field, so it’s helped a lot.”
