Mhlongo: It Was A Team Effort
Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo was delighted to keep a clean sheet against Free State Stars on Saturday.
Mhlongo claimed the man-of-the-match award after seeing the Buccaneers claim a 1-0 win over Ea Lla Koto in the Absa Premiership.
He said: "Most of all it was a collective effort. It wasn't an easy game. We knew they were going to come at us.
"It was tough but I knew that I had to stay focused and make sure I'm always on the front foot. I knew there would be lots of concentration here and there but obviously that's where I have to clean up because I'm the last line of defence.
"Credit must be given to the guys for a clean sheet. I'd like to thank my goalkeeper coach Rowen Fernandez. We've been working hard together. Tirelessly, he's been pushing me every time.
"And my coach Eric Tinkler has been motivating me and supporting me through difficult times, so I'd like to thank everyone who's been there for me."
