AmaZulu’s reserve team, Durban Warriors, continues to be the home of players that are no longer needed in the senior team at the KZN outfit.
Phumlani Mhamha is the latest player training with the team, having recently recovered from an injury that put him on the sidelines this season.
The defender was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season, but did not get a club due to injury. Mhamha told the Siya crew that he has been training with Warriors since he recovered from injury.
“I am training with Warriors to keep fit. I would like to play competitive football again and my agent knows about that and is looking on it. I will probably get that opportunity in January and play football again,” said Mhamha.
Mhamha is still contracted to AmaZulu, having joined the club in January on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Thokozani Mshengu also trained with the SAFA Second Division side before he eventually stopped.
