Reports coming from the Unites States are that South African-born young talent, Lindo Mfeka, is progressing well in his football career.
The left-footed central midfielder went to the US at the age of 15 to attend school in Kentucky and has been playing college soccer since then. He has represented South Africa at U17 level and is looking to go from strength to strength.
At the University of Florida, the Durban-born player is playing alongside players from Ghana, Venezuela, Brazil, England, Germany, Botswana, Canada, Colombia and Jamaica, among others.
His coach, George Kiefer, was quoted in US media saying recently, “He’s a special player. He has the potential to be one of the top guys to ever come out of South Florida. I think a big part of that is because he’s willing to do the work when we lose the ball as well. He’s one of our hardest working guys defensively."
