Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa is looking forward to another good season between the poles for the Buccaneers.
Meyiwa performed well for Pirates last season, after taking over the club’s number one jersey from Moeneeb Josephs. His solid displays for Pirates subsequently earned him various Bafana Bafana call-ups.
“Playing for a big club comes with a lot of responsibility. It doesn’t matter how well you play. At the end of the day, it’s all about winning. At Pirates, all the players must thrive to keep on improving and help the team win, because there is no time to relax here,” Meyiwa told orlandopiratesfc.com
“Even though I am happy with my performance of last season, I know that I cannot rest on my laurels. There’s always room for improvement and hence this year I’ll be setting myself even higher targets,” added Meyiwa.
Meyiwa faces a tough challenge from new recruit, Fatau Dauda. The Ghanaian goalkeeper was signed by Pirates from Ashanti Gold.
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will clash on July 27, with the title of 2013 Carling Black Label Cup champions up for grabs.
