Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, says that the team is focusing on their finishing, aiming to be more clinical in the final third.
Meyiwa made the number one jersey his own last season, cementing his place in coach Roger de Sa’s line-up. Bucs had the second best defensive record in the Absa Premiership in the 2012/13 campaign, second only to Kazier Chiefs, having conceded 23 goals all season.
Meyiwa played a key role between the sticks and although the side was solid at the back, they struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. The team scored 39 goals all season, in the 30 league outings, with Meyiwa now explaining that they are focusing on their finishing.
“Our coach is a former goalkeeper and he has helped me a lot in my department and in the whole defense, and now he is working with the strikers. We are working on the finishing. We have top strikers who can do the job and with the help of the coach we will start scoring goals soon,” Meyiwa said.
