The proposed swap deal involving Deolin Mekoa and Kwanda Mngonyama is on the brink of a collapse due to the two clubs being unable to agree on a deal.
The Siya crew broke the news yesterday that Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United were in the advanced stages of finalising a swap deal, which would see Mekoa joining the Chlorrkop-based club and Mngonyama going in the opposite direction.
Now Siya sources have revealed that the deal is on the brink of collapsing due to the two parties being unable to agree on financial terms.
However, with hours to go before the closing of the transfer window today, at midnight, indications are that there is still enough time for the two clubs to salvage any particular dealings.
As both clubs look to make the final additions to their squads, it remains to be seen whether the in-demand youngster, Mekoa, will make his way to the Tshwane giants for their title-defending season.
