Kaizer Chiefs face a challenging upcoming few days in both the league and cup competitions.
Chiefs take on Platinum Stars in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday evening. Three days later they then take on fierce rivals, Orlando Pirates, in an MTN 8 second leg semi-final ecounter, on Tuesday (24 September).
It's already been a fairly hectic playing schedule of late for the Glamour Boys. Chiefs beat Maritzburg United last Saturday (14 September), and then drew 0-0 with Bloemfontein Celtic on the following Tuesday (17 September).
With another highly-anticipated Soweto derby around the corner, will Chiefs be able to maintain their focus against Platinum Stars on Saturday night?
We put this question to legendary former Chiefs striker, Shane McGregor.
He said, "Ja, it could affect you in one way or another that you've got a big Soweto derby coming up. But the guys should be professional enough, and just go and do the job."
"In my career this isn't something I really struggled with. I just took it game by game. I was always worried about the game coming ahead. There are players that are affected, but I played every game like it was the last I would ever play.'
McGregor also urged Chiefs' players to make sure they're up for the clash against Stars.
"There are guys who let the occasion get the better of them in terms of the big game coming up. For me, I never did that. I'd urge Chiefs to focus on Platinum Stars because that's what you've got to do. But Stuart Baxter is very good like that, I think he's too professional and won't allow any lack of focus."
The action gets underway from 20h15 at FNB Stadium.
