Word reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates forward, Thulasizwe Mbuyane, is close to making a move to Mpumalanga Black Aces.
As reported by the crew earlier, Mbuyane and his agent Mike Makaab were set to sit with Pirates boss Irvin Khoza to discuss the striker’s future this week.
Now the Siya sources have confirmed that the meeting took place yesterday, but it was between Mbuyane and Khoza.
According to the sources, Mbuyane asked Khoza to release him from his contract, citing a lack of game time as his reason for wanting to leave Pirates.
“Dr Khoza then told Mbuyane he needed to speak to his agent and coach Roger de Sa first before he can make a decision,” said a source close to Pirates.
Makaab confirmed to the Siya crew that he will meet Khoza this week to discuss Mbuyane's future.
"Yes, I'll meet the Chairman before the end of the week to discuss amongst other things Aces' offer for Mbuyane," Makaab told the crew.
Mbuyane has only made one substitute appearance for Pirates this season.
