Chippa United goalkeeper, Mbongeni Mzimela, remains in doubt about his future at the Cape side. Mzimela is in the end of the one-year deal he signed with Chippa when he joined the side last year.
The club has not discussed the issue of renewal with him just yet as the focus has been on winning promotion to the PSL.
Chippa opened a 10-point gap at the top of the NFD stanginds with four games to go in the 2013/14 season.
“Things have been difficult for Mbongeni at the club because the team has been doing well since he returned from injury. The team’s focus is on winning promotion and that’s why it has been difficult for him and some of the players to get game time. It is difficult for the coach to change the winning formula when the team is doing well. He is working hard at training and is hoping to get his chance. Sean (Roberts) and (Abduraghmaan) White are doing well at the moment,” said the source.
Mzimela played for AmaZulu before his move to the Chilli Boys. He was linked with a move to Thanda Royal Zulu before his move to the Mother City.
