Mbeyane Confident That Chippa Will Stay Up
Chippa United and Santos played to a goalless draw in a PSL Promotion/Relegation Play-offs, with the Chilli Boys back in action today as they prepare to face Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Striker Andile Mbeyane believes that although they had to settle for a draw in the Cape Town derby, they are still in a good position to win their remaining fixtures and maintain their PSL status.
Mbeyane said that looking at their last eight games of the season, they played well and are positive that they will South Africa’s top tier of football.
“We started on a low with a draw but what we need today is a win against Aces. If we can win here today, then we will have a positive approach in the other games that we still have to play.
“But we have to start today and collect the three points and be on top of the three team log. We need a win and nothing else but a win,” the former Ajax Cape Town striker concluded.
Nthethe: Everyone Is Positive
With the Bafana Bafana team having been dealt a number of injuries to some of their first choice regulars, coach Gordon Igesund will have to somewhat reshuffle his rearguard.
Despite the set-back, defender Thabo Nthethe is optimistic that they will do well and confident that the squad has got the quality to record the desired results.
The Bloemfontein Celtic defender said that the team is looking good and said that the players are in high spirits ahead of the friendly against Lesotho, and the World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and Ethiopia. Playing Lesotho , he said that the entire team is up-beat.
“We have good players in the team and everyone is positive going into the game . The players are looking positively towards the game.
“We want to do well and we just have to work hard on what we are doing and then all will be well. I know we want to win every game we play and we are looking forward to that,” Nthethe said.
