Word coming out of the Orlando Pirates camp is that Collins Mbesuma has started light training, as he continues his road to recovery following a long injury layoff.
According to Pirates fitness trainer Japhet Borges, Mbesuma, who missed out on Zambia’s World Cup qualifier against Ghana this past weekend because of an ankle injury, will only start full training in two weeks time.
“Club physio John Williams is working with Mbesuma and he told me that he will hand him over to me in two weeks time, to work on his fitness level,” said Borges.
Meanwhile, Borges said that midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo will only be ready by the end of September.
“Bibo is responding well to treatment and he should be ready in two to three weeks,” added Borges.
Pirates will take on Congo’s AC Leopards in a CAF Champions League match in Dolisie on Saturday at 3.30pm.
A win in this game will all but guarantee their spot in the semi-finals of this year's CAF competition.
