Mbenyane Blow For Chippa

Chippa United have been forced to prepare for the start of the second round of the season without ace striker Andile Mbenyane.
The former Ajax Cape Town player underwent a hernia operation on January 10, and has subsequently been ruled out of action for a period of six to seven weeks, to allow for the injury to heal.
The 24-year-old has been one of the key players in Farouk Abrahams’ team this season, and his presence will be undoubtedly be missed.
“I went for an operation to heal the injury. It’s called hernia. It’s going to take me between six to seven weeks to heal. I don’t think I will be ready in time to resume with the team.
“I could be ready after the first two or three games of the year. It hurts and I struggle to even walk at the moment,” said Mbenyane.
