Platinum Stars midfielder Lindokuhle Mbatha is set to be offered a new contract by the club. The former Mpumalanga Black Aces player is in the last year of his contract with the Phokeng-based outfit, however is looking to extend his stay.
The Siya crew has been informed that Mbatha recently received a letter from the club confirming their intentions of wanting to offer him a new deal. Negotiations between the club and the player are set to begin as Dikwena look to tie down their key players.
The club is also looking to hold on to a number of Mbatha’s teammates that are still in coach Cavin Johnson’s plans. The players include, Thuso Phala, Enocent Mkhabela, Joseph Molangoane, Sibusiso Msomi and Robert Ng’ambi.
Johnson is expected to hold on to the bulk of his squad as he continues to build a squad capable of challenging for honours.
Still at Stars, former Baroka FC player Lantshene Phalane is expected to leave the side on his return from Milano United. The 23-year-old is currently on loan with the Cape Town-based NFD side.
