Mbatha Confident In Bafana

Platinum Stars and Bafana Bafana midfielder Lindokuhle Mbatha is confident that the South African national team can proceed to the next round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Mbatha, who has been influential for Stars under Allan Freese this season, has been selected to Bafana alongside club teammates Siyabonga Mpontshane, Vuyo Mere and Tsepo Gumede.

“We are not scared. I think we can proceed (to the next round). The guys are determined,” said Mbatha.

Bafana take on Mozambique at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday at 18:00 to get this year’s edition of the CHAN tournament underway.

Bafana are in Group A with Mozambique, Mali and Nigeria.

The experience of players like Itumeleng Khune, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Bernard Parker and Thabo Nthethe will be key for Igesund’s side throughout the tournament.
