National First Division outfit Vasco Da Gama have signed Ajax Cape Town youngster, Matthew Rowell on a one year deal ahead of the 2014/15 NFD season.
The NFD season starts this weekend with Vasco travelling to Maluti FET College FC, who play their home matches at the Charles Mopeli Stadium.
Rowell has been a product of Ajax’s prestigious youth academy from a very young age, however, hasn’t quite managed to secure a regular spot in the Cape side’s first team.
The 21-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Santos, along with fellow young Urban Warriors Michael Kwong and Stefan Van Neel.
Since the trio’s arrival back at Ikamva, Van Neel has started training with Black Leopards, while Kwong is still with Ajax.
Rowell now join a host of new signings at Vasco including Steven Hoffman, Nicholas Mynhardt, Danleigh Borman, Sibusiso Mxoyana and Rafiq De Goede.
