News reaching the Siya crew is that Thabo Matlaba is unlikely to stay on the side-lines for long, despite him being currently injured.
The Bafana Bafana left back was stretchered off the field in Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup game last weekend.
According to a report from the club, the Tembisa-born player picked up a hamstring injury in Bucs’ 1-0 win against CS Sfaxien in Tunisia on Sunday night.
While Pirates have announced that Matlaba will know the full extent of his injury when the team is back in South Africa, a source close to the club confirmed to the Siya crew that the 27-year-old should be back into action in no time.
“It’s not a serious injury. He will be fine and continue where he left off with the rest of his teammates,” said the source.
