Matlaba Desperate For Goals

Man of the Match Thabo Matlaba was disappointed South Africa could not score against Algeria on Saturday night.

Bafana Bafana, who lost 1-0 to Norway on Tuesday, drew 0-0 with the north Africans in their final game before the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Matlaba said: "We are looking to score goals and we are not scoring goals.

"The game was very technical, with both teams looking on the counter. It was a tough game.

"A draw is OK, but we didn't score goals."

The Orlando Pirates fullback, though, is confident the national side can impress when they open CAF's showpiece event against Cape Verde at the National Stadium on January 19.

"We are going to challenge in the tournament, and we are going to try harder to score goals," Matlaba said.
