AmaZulu could be Aubrey Mathibe’s new club for next season. Mathibe’s contract with Moroka Swallows expires in June and the Dube Birds haven’t tabled a new offer for him as of yet.
AmaZulu are believed to be interested in the goalkeeper, with the club having confirmed that they will be without Mbongeni Mzimela next season, after the shot-stopper was granted his wish to seek a club of his choice due to a lack of game time at the KZN outfit.
Tapuwa Kapini is AmaZulu’s first choice goalkeeper at the moment and the Zimbabwean shot-stopper is also the captain of the side. Kapini and Philani Zikalala are the two goalkeepers in Craig Rosslee’s team at the moment.
However Usuthu expect Mandla Sangweni, brother of Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Thamsanqa, to return to the side after spending the 2012/13 season on loan with Durban Warriors.
