Moroka Swallows midfielder David Mathebula faces yet another lay-off after picking up an injury to his foot in training.
While the full extent of the player’s injury has not yet been confirmed, it has been revealed that the former Kaizer Chiefs man is currently wearing a protective boot in order to help speed up the healing process.
The news will come as a blow to Swallows fans who have hardly seen the 29-year-old in action this season, since a knee injury ruled him out of the MTN8 final in August.
It seems that Mathebula, a star performer in the PSL last season, will now miss another chunk of the season in order to recover from his latest setback.
Mathebula has less than six months left on his current contract with the club, though it is thought that he will sign an extension with them in the next few weeks as they look to tie him down to the club.
