'Pirates’ Consistency Will See Them Through Arrows Game'

Ahead of Orlando Pirates' match against Golden Arrows today, club legend, Thabo Mngomeni has praised his former team’s consistency and is sure that they will come away with a win.

Downs Likely To Offload Former Chiefs Keeper

While Pirates have performed well against Arrows in recent games, winning five of their last six encounters and their last four away games against The Backheel Boys, Mngomeni still believes that the match will be a tricky encounter.

The 46-year-old said that playing against Arrows in Durban is never an easy tie and that Eric Tinkler’s men will be under pressure to keep up their current run of form that has seen them win four of their last six league games.

“I think that they have to keep their form up, and I don’t know whether that will put pressure on them,” he explained. “But I do think that they are capable of going there and winning. They know that Golden Arrows are a difficult team to beat. With the game in Durban, it is going to be very difficult. Since the guys are looking up, I think they’re going to climb (up the table).”

Pirates go into the game sixth in the PSL standings, nine points off of a CAF qualifying spot, while Golden Arrows are 11th and have won only two of their last six games.

The former Manning Rangers midfielder went on to say that he thinks that the Buccaneers will be able to overcome the challenge posed by Arrows because they are starting to show consistency and that the results will inevitably follow.

“I think they’re going to get through (this challenge),” he continued. “At the moment, it looks like the consistency is beginning to build up and that’s why I can say that I’m looking for better results.”
