News coming out of the Chippa United camp is that they will be calling off the deal for Orlando Pirates midfielder Menzi Masuku.
It was announced by the boss of the Port Elizabeth outfit Siviwe Mpengesi last month that his club has signed Masuku from Pirates.
The Buccaneers later confirmed on the club’s official website that Masuku is one of the players leaving for Chippa. But Masuku has been in Brazil for the Olympics with the South African U23 team until recently.
Although Masuku’s proposed move from Pirates to Chippa has been confirmed by both clubs, the player has reportedly disputed it.
Sources close to Chippa have confirmed to the Siya crew that the club is considering pulling out of the deal. According to sources, the club is said to feel that the player is being advised by a third party against making the switch from Gauteng to the Eastern Cape.
As reported by the Siya crew, Chippa confirmed that Masuku’s supposed move to the club involved their former player, Nkosinathi Mthiyane, going to Pirates.
While Mthiyane is already with Bucs under Muhsin Ertugral and his technical team, after leaving Chippa last month, it seems that Masuku might not be available to play for the Chilli Boys in the new season.
