Bafana Bafana legend Phil Masinga says that the players must believe in themselves ahead of South Africa’s crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier with Botswana.
The former Bafana striker scored the goal that took South Africa to the first World Cup in France in 1998 when he scored against Congo at the FNB Stadium.
Today, Bafana Bafana need a win to stand a chance of qualifying for the last round of the World Cup 2014 qualifiers when they host Botswana at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Masinga says that if Bafana are to win, every player should take responsibility on the field of play – no matter what their role is.
He told the Siya crew that they should forget about Ethiopia and what will happen in that game, and simply focus on the job that is in their hands.
"The most important thing at this stage is team spirit and full commitment from all the players. Every player should take responsibility and win this game. They have what it takes to win and they should just be confident and they will do it," the former Leeds United striker explained.
