Tsepo Masilela started the season on the sidelines due to injury, however made his way into Stuart Baxter’s Kaizer Chiefs outfit after 11 rounds of league action.
Following some impressive performances for the log leaders, he received a call-up to Gordon Igesund’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Bafana Bafana squad. The former Getafe defender has not looked back since, playing an important role in Igesund’s Afcon campaign.
Although he was left out of Bafana’s opening game against Cape Verde, he featured in the 2-0 win over Angola and the two-all draw with Morocco. Masilela has since expressed his joy of being back in the mix of things.
“It feels good. We have qualified for the quarterfinals and we really don't care who we play next, we are ready for them. As a player it so exciting to play for your national team and win games. Actually we want to win this tournament for the country,” the Chiefs left back concluded.
