Platinum Stars are still looking to replace Cavin Johnson on the Dikwena bench, with Allan Freese and Willem Jackson currently overseeing the team’s preseason training.
Following Johnson’s departure to SuperSport United, a number of coaches have been linked with the job, with Greg Mashilo’s name now being added to the short-list.
Mashilo has been working as the president of the South African Football Coaches Association (SAFCA) in recent times. He previously coached the women’s national team at U17 and senior level, respectively.
Soccer-Laduma revealed that Mark Harrison’s name is amongst the possible candidates for the job after his impressive work with Chippa United. His Santos counterpart, Ian Palmer, is also on the list of candidates, together with Neil Tovey and Ian Gorowa.
Still with the Phokeng outfit, the club’s goalkeeper coach Alex Heredia has jetted off to Seychelles to conduct a goalkeeper coaching course.
The Bafana Bafana keeper coach, who has been to Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia for same purposes in the past, is expected to return to the country on Saturday (June 29).
The Siya crew has been informed that Heredia could be on his way to join Johnson at SuperSport United on his return.
