Free State Stars midfielder, Paulus Masehe, was the big winner at the club’s end of the season awards ceremony last night.
Masehe walked away with the biggest prize, Ea Lla Koto’s Player of the Season award, including a cool cheque of R80 000.
The 29-year-old was also voted by his teammates as the Players’ Player of the Year, with R30 000 in prize money accompanying the accolade. He also bagged the Most Consistent Player award, worth R15 000, for his efforts in the 2012/13 season.
Masehe was also named as the club’s new captain, replacing Kennedy Mweene who left Stars for Mamelodi Sundowns.
The other winners on the evening included Katlego Mashego who won the Chairman’s award, worth R10 000, and the Bonitas award, worth R20 000.
Luyolo Nomandela walked away with the top goal scorer award, worth R20 000, for the six goals he scored in his first season with the club.
Nomandela was also named as one of the club’s Rookies of the Season, alongside Daniel Cardoso. They each won R15 000 in prize money.
The Most Disciplined Player award went to Enva Wiltwer, bagging R15 000 in prize money.
