Word coming out of the Orlando Pirates camp is that midfielder Lehlogonolo Masalesa will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Bucs’ trip to Congo to face AC Leopards in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
The latest news in the Bucs camp will come as a blow to the team, as the Soweto giants go into the game without five players, due to injuries and suspensions.
Striker Collins Mbesuma and Thandani Ntshumayelo are injured, while defenders, Thabo Matlaba and Happy Jele, and midfielder Andile Jali are serving a one match suspension.
Pirates coach Roger de Sa confirmed to the Siya crew that ‘Viera’, as Masalesa is fondly known by the Bucs faithful, is struggling with a niggling injury, which he picked up at training.
“Viera didn’t train with us for the past two days, but he looked okay today. I’m waiting for the medical report on him, but he is definitely coming with us to Congo,” said De Sa.
“By the looks of things, he should be okay to play for us on Saturday, but like I said, we have to wait and see what the doctors say,” added De Sa.
Pirates will take on Leopards in Dolisie on Saturday afternoon, at 15h30. The game will be televised live on SABC 1 and SuperSport Select SA.
