Marumo Gallants have commented on reports that they have parted ways with two of their players without officially kicking a ball for the club.
Reports in local media suggested that the Polokwane-based outfit has parted ways with Muhammad Zaid Patel and Dutch winger Jeroen Lumu, both of whom were roped in by the club in the current transfer window.
The Siya crew then reached out to the club – who set the record straight confirming that the latter has parted ways with the club; however former Bidvest Wits and AmaZulu striker Patel was still on the club’s books.
"Patel is still with the club, Lumu is the one that has left,” club Liaison Manager Rufus Matsena told the Siya crew.
When asked about the reason for the departure of the 26-year-old attacker, Matsena remained coy, stating that the finer details still needed to be ironed out between the player and the club.
“With Lumu, at the moment it’s still confidential, we need to get some time to get to the finer details,” Matsena added.
Lumu has been quite a journeyman, having turned out for nine clubs in a number of countries including India, Malta and Portugal.
In addition, the club recently slammed reports that 26-year-old winger Phillip Ndlondlo has signed a contract with Orlando Pirates.
