Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Calvin Marlin will definitely be leaving the club next month, after the Chloorkop-based side decided against exercising their option on the player.
The 37-year-old shot-stopper has struggled to break into the Sundowns starting line-up in recent years, with Wayne Sandilands making the position between the sticks his own.
It is thought that the veteran goalkeeper still believes that he has something left to offer in the PSL and his agent has explained that there has been interest shown in the keeper.
Ryan Hartslief, the player’s representative, told the Siya crew, “Sundowns have informed us that they will not be extending Calvin’s contract with the club, there’s been interest from a few clubs but we’re just weighing things up at present.”
There have been recent indications that a number of PSL clubs are looking for a new goalkeeper ahead of the new season, although it remains to be seen where the future of Sundowns’ former Bafana Bafana international will lie.
