Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker, Marks Maponyane has given some advice to Kudakwashe Mahachi, with the Golden Arrows man being linked with a move to both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
“Both teams (Chiefs and Pirates) have the same qualities in terms of his presence making a statement, because if you’re at Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates, he must know that he must make an impact,” he explained. “Both sets of fans are cagey and unwelcoming if you don’t perform. Whether he’s at Chiefs or Pirates, he has to fit like a glove.”
Maponyane went on to use Gustavo Paez’s move to Chiefs as an example, saying that Mahachi needs to decide which club he’d play his best football at.
“If you look at (Gustavo) Paez, he’s now scored a few goals and only now has he been accepted. If he (Mahachi) has to make a choice about whether he’s going to go to either Pirates or Chiefs, then he better know which club is the one where he’s going to play well at,” he continued.
“At both of those teams, especially if you come from another PSL team, they don’t have time to wait for you to start making an impact. They expect you to deliver, or otherwise you may just as well not make the move. So, at either one, whichever one he goes to, he’s got to hit the ground running.”
Kudakwashe Mahachi has scored two goals in 17 league appearances for Golden Arrows this season.
