Former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Mark Williams has given his opinion on whether Themba Zwane should consider moving on from the Chloorkop-based club.
As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Zwane’s link to Chiefs seems to be intensifying at this point as the player is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Brazilians.
Zwane and Sundowns have been locked in negotiations for several weeks, however, it seems that nothing has been agreed to, despite the player nearing the final six months of his existing contract with Sundowns.
Speaking in last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Williams gave his thoughts on whether or not Zwane should move on from the club.
“He should rather stay at Sundowns or look for a team like maybe Cape Town City, where he can add some value to the club. I think Chiefs already have players like him.
“Look, maybe a team like Bidvest Wits, but my honest opinion, I think he should make the move that is going to set him well financially. If Chiefs are going to pay him the money, then yes, he should go. Or, if any other team is prepared to pay the big bucks for him, then that should be his first priority.
“He has to put finance first. All these players are putting money first... I’ve been there. He could still make it until 30 and then try to get another better financial deal. But Sundowns is the club who pays well. Then why leave?”
