Maritzburg United youngster, Bandile Shandu, could make his first team debut for the club this week when they take on AmaZulu.
The 17-year-old, who is still in matric, has impressed Ernst Middendorp and his technical team since being promoted from the club’s youth set-up and it is thought that he could be handed a place in the German’s squad.
Shandu, a talented midfielder, played for Maritzburg College in the past and is said to be a bright prospect for the future.
The Team of Choice added a handful of players to their ranks during the recent January transfer window, with Dillon Sheppard, Virgil Vries and Heinrich Isaacs joining them, while Ayanda Ndlovu was recalled from his loan spell with Sivutsa Stars.
It is believed that both Sheppard and Shandu could well make the cut for Middendorp’s side when they take on Usuthu, however the other new signings could face a wait on their hands before pulling on the blue and white of Maritzburg in a league game.
