Davids: We Won’t Sell To Chiefs, Pirates Or Sundowns

Maritzburg United Won't Be Selling To Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns Or Orlando Pirates

By Soccer Laduma - May 04, 2018 07:13 AM
Fadlu Davids has issued a strong statement regarding the talented players in the Maritzburg United squad, saying categorically that no players ‘will be leaving to the big three’.
The Team of Choice have had a fantastic season in 2017/18, putting in a number of impressive performances and setting several new club records along the way as they guaranteed a top five spot.
Now, as they start their preparations for next season, their young head coach says that their focus is on keeping their players together – not selling them to the highest bidder among Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
He told the club’s official website, “We’ll do our planning for next season in the next few weeks. I think the main thing for us will be to keep all our players. After our initial meetings with the chairman, that will happen, unless European clubs come knocking, you don’t want to then stand in the players’ way.
“None of them will be leaving to the big three; I think that’s the main focus, to keep our players together.
“There are some players who have left who have not yet been replaced, so definitely we will be in the market to strengthen, there’s no pressure yet for next season, we still have to complete this season.”
The likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebogang Maboe and Fortune Makaringe have all attracted interested with their performances throughout the course of the campaign, although the club does have long-term contracts on all of their star players.

I dont understand coaches who comment on something not on their powers since they are not managers like Overseas where coaches have power to buy and retain the players, here they have no say especially small teams with small budgets. If Fuldu employ Sundowns strategy with players, he is going to come short. He must continue doing good job and stop mumbling like this talkative coach.

Mr Davids you should have point fingers straight to Dunus because they are reason we lack of talent in our league by purchasing key players from other teams and turn them to be benchwarmers so plz with all due respect leave the two best teams in league and deal with Chines of South Africa (Sundowns).

You might be right on your own right Mr Fadlu. They are your players & only good for you & your team. The big 3 have their own guns. Keep them until they become donkeys.

By the way which European club will knock at Maritzberg United, they are not even known in Africa. Fadlu is just obstracting opportunity of players to go overseas.

Money talks Baba, Bull***t runs marathons. If you pay the type of salaries that big teams pay, the players should stay. But do not impoverish players by paying them peanuts and deny them chances to earn more in big teams. I hope you succeed in keeping the team together so they win more next season. Great work this season. Well done Fadlu!

The fact that family business didn't have money to buy Evans Rusike does not imply Downs will not bid for Maritzburg Utd players if interested.

Unfortunately that's not ur decision Fadlu.every player wants to join one of the big 3,keeping them risks the possibility of unhappiness in the camp next season.players might play poorly and not give their all for the team as a protest, that's the norm these days
