Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Keagan Buchanan, has been dealt a heavy blow at Maritzburg United after injuring his ACL.

The 27-year-old seemed to be settling in nicely at Maritzburg following his switch from the Amakhosi at the start of the season, however, he is now unlikely to play again in 2018 as he recovers from the injury that he picked up in training as his side prepare to return to Absa Premiership action.
A quote from their head coach, Fadlu Davids, on their official Twitter account read, “It's (a) blow for us to lose him. It happened at training, he will have a scan today to determine (the) extent of the injury. But it's definitely an ACL, maybe not a complete rupture, either grade two or three, which will put him out for a couple of months.”
It is not the first time that the midfielder has injured his cruciate ligament - he has done it twice before - and the club will be hoping that he can make a full recovery as quick as possible in order to help them in their league campaign.
