Maritzburg United have confirmed that they have parted ways with eight players, including some of their more experienced campaigners.
The Team of Choice finished in 12th place on the DStv Premiership, as they did enough to avoid going down to the GladAfrica Championship. In an effort to start rebuilding for the 2022/23 season, the KZN outfit has confirmed that eight of their soldiers will no longer form part of coach Ernst Middendorp's team going forward.
The club has confirmed that Phumlani Ntshangase, Lucky Baloyi, Ryan Rae, Riyaaz Ismail, Nazeer Allie, Steven Pereira, Tato Lesoma and Clayton Daniels have all been released by the club.
Baloyi and Pereira were part of the group who joined Maritzburg in January, but the club has decided against keeping them. Daniels and Allie were the most experienced players in the Team of Choice, but the club has made the big decision to let them go.
The club has confirmed that they will be making new acquisitions and announcements will be made in due course, as Middendorp rebuilds the side.
