Maritzburg United have announced that they have extended the deals of up to five of their star players.
The Team of Choice have let go of Thabiso Kutumela, Mxolisi Kunene, Bongani Mpandle, Kwanda Mngonyama and Bandile Shandu ahead of the new season, but they have made sure that they will be holding on to some of their key players.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, the Team of Choice has extended the contract of midfielder former Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City midfielder Travis Graham. Farook Kadodia informed the crew that the player had signed a new two-year deal after impressing last season.
Another player Maritzburg will have for another season is their product Bongokuhle Hlongwane. The Siya crew reported that Hlongwane has agreed a deal in principle to join Mamelodi Sundowns, but is staying at Maritzburg for another season. It was a double deal with Kutumela, who is currently in pre-season training with the defending DStv Premiership champions.
Experienced players Clayton Daniels, Ryan Rae and Daylon Claasen have also extended their stays with the Team of Choice. Both Daniels and Rae arrived last season and they have done well enough to earn new deals.
The club recently announced the signings of Rowan Human, Lefa Hlongwane, Alfred Ndengane and Zukile Kewuti.
