Following their gutsy 2-0 win against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday, Maritzburg United are looking to register their first away win when they face Moroka Swallows on Saturday afternoon at Dobsonville Stadium.
The Team of Choice is sat in ninth spot on the Absa Premiership table with seven points from the five matches played to date, however the two sides have met 14 times since 2005 and 2006. The Birds have won seven and the Team of Choice have registered three wins, with four of the games ending in draws.
Nevertheless, to the United defender, Ruben Cloete, the win against Aces left the team motivated and raring to go to Dobsonville in an attempt to bag all three points. He told Siya Crew that it will not be a walk in the park, but that they will be up for the challenge against the Dube Birds.
“Things are looking positive for the side and we are looking for nothing but a win and I believe we will offer our best on the day. We haven’t been winning our away games but it’s still early, we are concerned as team but that is going to change,” said Cloete.
Asked about how they plan to contain Siyabonga Nomvethe and Edward Manqele, the Team of Choice defender said they do not have a specific plan but they will work as a team.

“For us teamwork is very crucial and we will go in the game with an organised defence, midfield and strike force. I don’t see anything stopping us from clinching a win. We will not afford any player special attention, because our aim is to improve our log standings” said Cloete.
