Maritzburg United have confirmed that the club has penned a deal with striker Thokozani Sekotlong.
Sekotlong, who played for the University of Pretoria during the 2012/13 season, had attracted interest from a number of PSL clubs this season, following his fine performances for coach Steve Barker.
The Team of Choice have now confirmed that they have landed their target, with he 22-year-old having penned a pre-contract with the side. Maritzburg confirmed Sekotlong’s signing on their official twitter account, adding that Nhlanhla Vilakazi will also be with the side for the 2013/14 season.
Vilakazi signed a pre-contract with the Ernst Middendorp-coached outfit in January, as was confirmed by Soccer-Laduma. He was on the books of Ajax Cape Town last season.
Maritzburg’s twitter account stated, “ #TeamofChoice have signed Nhlanhla Vilakazi and Thokozani Sekotlong on pre-contracts for the start of the 2013/14 season.”
The two players will join their new teammates when they regroup for preseason. Still at Maritzburg, the club has released Byrone Hendricks, Wayne Matle, Francis Chansa and Mthokozisi Yende.
