Maritzburg United have announced that they’ve terminated Clinton Larsen’s contract as the sacking of the former Bloemfontein Celtic coach was predicted by the Siya crew.
The Team of Choice has issued a statement confirming the news, the board of Maritzburg United Football Club decided to terminate the contract of head coach Larsen.
According ot the statement, the Chairman, Farook Kadodia, informed Larsen's business manager Mike Makaab on December 18 last year of its intention and as a matter of formality, this became effective after the match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
"The board has cited the string of poor results where Larsen achieved 5 out of 27 points during his short spell at the club, it was clear that Larsen would not achieve his targeted objective in his contract of reaching the top 8 at the end of the season,” said Kadodia.
The Team of Choice currently occupies position 14 with 13 points and are flirting with the relegation scrap.
The former Manning Rangers midfielder joined the Team of choice after they had played six matches and were sitting in the top eight with eight points, struggling to maintain their position whilst only achieving one win in 9 matches.
The statement revealed that the club is in the process of appointing a new head coach and an announcement will be made next week.
The Siya crew will follow the developments at the Maritzburg-based outfit and will keep you posted.
