Maritzburg claimed their first point of the season with a 0-0 draw against Kaizer Chiefs, despite playing 75 minutes with a man down.
Siyanda Xulu picked up the Man of the Match award for the encounter, while Buchanan also played his part with Maritzburg down to 10 men,
“It’s about getting the players fit. You can see our new players like Keagan Buchanan he’s adjusting game by game. He’s going to be a good player for us and all the new players. Keletso [Makgalwa] is fantastic, he’s unbelievable, South Africa has so much talent. It’s about giving these youngsters opportunities to play," Davids told SuperSport.
The United trainer also reserved special for Xulu after his side played with ten men for 75 minutes.
“It was about keeping the structure. Not pressing them high like we usually do. It was captain’s performance from Siyanda [Xulu]. He’s growing in the leadership role and taking the responsibility on his shoulders,” he said.
