Booysen’s Sundowns Situation Clarified
Mario Booysen’s Mamelodi Sundowns situation has been clarified by his agent, Micky Paiva, who has explained that the player hasn’t been refusing to train.
The Siya crew reported this morning that the 27-year-old centre back – who is a target for SuperSport United – had been refusing to train at the club, however, he has actually been making the trip to Chloorkop.
While Booysen hasn’t been training with Sundowns’ first team, he has been doing work on his own in the club’s gym as he waits to see whether SuperSport’s attempts to sign him are successful.
Speaking to the crew today, Paiva explained, "Mario isn't refusing to train with Sundowns. He's been told that he's not in Pitso Mosimane's plans and is doing work on his own at Chloorkop until his future is finalised. It's important to note that he has been at the club every day, just not training with the first team. Otherwise he would be in breach of contract."
Booysen is Stuart Baxter’s first choice centre back for the new season should they manage to land him, however, he has already confirmed that he is making plans without the former Maritzburg United man in case a deal doesn’t materialise.
