Congolese central defender, Marcel Kalonda, has been training with SuperSport United as he looks to try and land himself a contract at the club.

Kalonda, who currently plays for Kabwe Warriors in Zambia, attended trials with Stuart Baxter’s side during their recent preseason camp in Mpumalanga, with Matsatsantsa known to be on the lookout for new defenders.
The centre back is highly regarded in Zambia at present, and has been crucial for the Warriors of late - recently scoring the winner in their clash with Lusaka Dynamos.
It remains to be seen whether Kalonda has done enough to persuade Baxter that he is deserving of a deal in Tshwane, however, his chances may have been dented slightly following the completion of Mario Booysen’s move from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation in the coming weeks, but it is thought that SuperSport have done the bulk of their signing for the 2016/17 season.
