No Orebro Move For Van Heerden

AmaZulu defender, Marc van Heerden, will not be moving to Swedish club, Orebro SK, after they decided against making a bid for the full-back.

The 26-year-old recently spent some time with the Swedish outfit in an attempt to land a contract in Scandinavia, however it appears that he was unlucky in his attempts, despite impressing their technical team.

Magnus Skoldmark, Orebro’s sporting director, confirmed to the Siya crew that they would not be pursuing Van Heerden’s signature, while his agent, Ryan Hartslief, explained some of the reasons why.

Speaking to the Siya crew, Hartslief said, “Marc did well, but as a team that only recently got promoted they have a specific budget. Obviously foreign players take up a big part of that budget and they decided to sign an attacking midfielder instead. They said that if they hadn’t got the midfielder then they would have gone for Marc.”

Today sees the Swedish transfer window come to a close, with Orebro having spent their time mulling over their potential targets.

Van Heerden will now remain with Usuthu, a club where he is highly-rated, though it remains to be seen whether he will become a target for other clubs in Europe at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean striker, Donald Ngoma, is currently on trial with Orebro as he looks to land a deal.
