Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa is keeping his mind on tonight’s clash against Mpumalanga Black Aces rather than looking at any other distractions surrounding this Telkom Knockout match.
Bucs got mighty close to claiming the 2013 MTN8 trophy, but narrowly lost to Platinum Stars on penalties in the final.
The Sea Robbers inched ever closer to another final, when they drew 0-0 to Esperance in the first leg semi-finals of the CAF Champions League. This makes their second leg clash on October 19, against the Tunisian giants, ever so mouth-watering.
Ace, as Manyisa is affectionately known, is staying focused on this evening’s Telkom Knockout encounter with Black Aces and insists that he and his teammates are holding off on all other things until the match is over.
Manyisa told Soccer-Laduma, “At Pirates you’ll always be involved in many competitions, so it’s important to keep a close eye on the match closest to you and give it your all. We are focusing all our attention on this match, the rest will come after the 90 minutes.”
The Bucs boat has also been rocked by the absence of Lucky Lekgwathi in the MTN8 final, as well as the CAF Champions League clash against Esperance, and this has been the topic of much conversation in the last two weeks.
