Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa is set to miss Wednesday’s league game against Free State Stars, as well as the CAF Champions League clash against TP Mazembe on Saturday.
‘Ace’, as Manyisa is affectionally known in football circles, injured his groin in the league game against Ajax Cape Town last week and there have been concerns on the extent of the player’s injury over the past few days.
Although the club had indicated that Manyisa was making making steady progress in his recovery, Pirates’ PRO Mickey Modisane told Soccer-Laduma that the Bafana Bafana player could be sidelined for up to four weeks.
“Oupa is injured. He is going to take between three to four weeks to heal. It’s a groin injury,” said Modisane.
Pirates have a number of first team players that have picked up injuries in recent times, including Thabo Matlaba, who also got injured in the game against Ajax last week.
