SuperSport United’s most recent signing, Lebogang Manyama, is set to undergo a trial with Italian club, Hellas Verona, in March of next year.
The 23-year-old Ajax Cape Town man was announced as Matsatsantsa’s new addition via their Twitter account last night, although they didn’t announce the length of his deal.
It has since been revealed to the Siya crew that the attacking midfielder has been given a four-year deal in Tshwane, starting in January, as well as a two-year option on top of that.
Also, in addition to that, it has been explained to the crew by Manyama's representative, Alfred Phiri, that SuperSport have given Manyama permission to attend a trial with Italian Serie A side, Verona, at the start of 2014.
Verona, who won the Scudetto back in the 1980s, were promoted from Serie B last season, and are currently sitting at 6th place in Italy’s top-flight.
It was originally thought that SuperSport were going to land Manyama on a pre-contract, with him joining them at the end of the season, however after Ajax and Matsatsantsa agreed terms it was confirmed that he would be joining up with Cavin Johnson’s team in January.
The attacker was believed to be on the verge of joining Kaizer Chiefs earlier this month, however the two parties couldn’t agree on personal terms, with the player seemingly wanting to be allowed to go on trial should the opportunity arise, a chance he’s been given with SuperSport.
