Botswana side Township Rollers have dismissed rumours linking former Mamelodi Sundowns forward Manqoba Ngwenya with a move back to the PSL.
The 33-year-old former Wits and Mpumalanga Black Aces forward has been linked with a move to SA, with Chippa United mentioned as one of the teams that are interested in him.
Rollers Secretary General Khumo Masonya, however, is adamant that Ngwenya will remain with the club next season.
“He still has a year left on his contract, so we’re expecting him to report for pre-season training next week. But having said that, we have never stood on any player’s way when a good offer comes for him, so if he wants to leave, we’ll listen to the offers that are presented to us,” said Masonya.
“There have been no offers for him yet, so that means he is remaining with us. We’re playing in the CAF Champions League next season, so hopefully he will remain with us and help us to do well in that competition,” added Masonya.
Meanwhile, Masonya revealed that there are rumours in Botswana linking their goalkeeper Mwapule Masule, but added that they had been no official approach from any PSL team for his services.
Masule, who helped Rollers to win the Botswana Premier League last season, won the BPL Player of the Season award last season.
