Mamelodi Sundowns striker Edward Manqele is expected to remain at Chloorkop, despite the reports linking him with an exit from the club.
A Soccer-Laduma source close to the dealings at Chloorkop has explained that Pitso Mosimane believes in the former Free State Stars striker’s ability, and that the coach is planning to put the 26-year-old on a special training programme for pre-season.
“The team is returning on Monday, June 24, and Manqele is one of the players that the coach has designed a special training progamme for, because he wants to use him next season. He is in the coach's plans and he is not going anywhere. Not next season," said the source.
The player's representatives, P Management, reaffirmed the source’s comment, stating that he will be staying with Downs. Karabo Mathang of P Management told the Siya crew that the media reports are not true.
“I can categorically tell you that the player is not going anywhere. He will be at Sundowns next season. I can tell you there is no truth in the reports,” Mathang said.
