News reaching the Siya crew is that Kaizer Chiefs striker Edward Manqele might have been taken to the Premier Soccer League’s Dispute Resolution Chamber had the club not facilitated for him to discuss the termination of his contract with his agent.
Manqele and his agent Josiah Mphono had their disagreements about the player’s move to Chiefs.
Having previously taken the player to the PSL DRC after helping him out of Mamelodi Sundowns to Chippa United, Mphono is believed to have been prepared to go that route again, if he did not get success in the negotiations.
Following a meeting between Manqele, Mphono and Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung, it was decided that the agent would be compensated to cut ties with the player.
“Josiah Mphono doesn’t work with Edward Manqele anymore. The player has been released from the contract he had with the agent.

“The agent didn’t want the matter to go for arbitration. That’s why he requested a meeting with the club. Bobby (Motaung) facilitated in the matter. There was never a fight with anyone. That’s why the agent didn’t involve his lawyers in the matter,” said the source.
